WELCOME TO dA~TAKARAZUKA!
The first dA group for fans of the
Takarazuka Revue to display art related to Takarazuka (and fiction too, if there is any out there!). Although there are quite a few Japanese fanart sites out there, I don't know of any English ones, so here we are!

On a more serious note, I have some grovelling to do. I have been completely remiss in updating this page and answering requests to join, etc. I have been incredibly busy in the last few months (changing jobs twice and moving abroad) and have not kept in touch so much with the world of Takarazuka (I still love it, don't get me wrong, but most of my favourites stars have now retired). Whatever the excuse, it's not really a good way to run the community.
So, I am sending a call to
all dedicated Takarazuka fans and DA addicts! If anybody more conscientious and more active as a Takarazuka fan than me would like to take over the community (moderating, updating, putting pictures up, etc), I would be happy to hand over the reins. I don't mind at all going on as I have until now, but it seems a shame if someone else who is more dedicated could do a better job - especially since Zuka really deserves a good dA comm! There are ever more Takarazuka fans outside Japan, thanks to the internet (and Youtube), and more art!
Drop me a note if you're interested! The job is not huge, just checking and updating from time to time, but obviously it is a bit of a commitment.
SO WHAT IS TAKARAZUKA?The Takarazuka Revue (
Takarazuka Kagekidan) is a Japanese all-female theatre company, comprised of five troupes and several hundred performers, whose peculiarity is that all the roles in their productions, male and female, are played by women.
They perform plays, musicals and revues, based on a wide range of stories and existing literature from all over the world, as well as original scripts, creating fantasy worlds of over-the-top flashiness, exquisite costumes and passionate romance. While the kitschness of it all isn't to everyone's taste, their performances are spectacular and the dancing in particular is superb.
Despite being virtually unknown everywhere else, Takarazuka are very famous in Japan and have legions of (99% female) fans of all ages. (And a few international fans too - come and see us on the
yahoo mailing list!)
For more information on Takarazuka, see the Links section below.
JOINING!Anyone can join the Takarazuka Group, you don't have to be an artist or a writer, nor submit any work regularly! All you need is to be a member of deviantART and be suitably obsessed with Takarazuka... or just vaguely interested.

To join, just
send a devnote (to the group, not the founder!) saying you would like to join, and you'll get a note back and be added to the members list.
You could also put a link to this group in your journal or signature

SUBMITTING STUFFWhat you can submit: Any Takarazuka-related art, of shows and performers (on stage or off), which complies with the
rules of DeviantART (i.e no sexually explicit content and no image theft or plagiarism).
How to submit: First upload the picture to your personal deviantART page. Then send a devnote to the group with the link, asking to have it put up. I will download the picture from your page, and post it in the Takarazuka group, with a link to the original. If you like, you can write a new comment for it; if you don't, it will be posted with the comment on the original page.
If you don't have the picture uploaded, you can also attach it to an
email to Suiki,
expressly giving me permission to put it up, along with any comments you would like to post with it.

At the moment I'm in Tokyo, I've come here for a month to study Japanese, and on the 11st of July I went to see Elisabeth with Sena Jun as Der Tod!
No words to describe it, really... *_____*
When I'll be back at home I think I'll try to draw something about it!

I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don't notice it.
